Innovative Pet Health App (iOS)

PROJECT OVERVIEW

As part of a UX/UI design bootcamp, I undertook the challenge of creating a futuristic mobile app, FurCare, aimed at enhancing pet health management.

With a forward-thinking approach, I envisioned a solution that leverages technology to improve the lives of pets and their owners, offering a new way to monitor and manage pet health.

DESIGN CHALLENGE

• develop a user-friendly interface that allows pet owners to access essential health information quickly

• encourage regular app usage for monitoring pet health metrics

• develop a visually appealing design that clearly communicates the app's features and benefits

RESEARCH RESULTS

Designing a mobile app for managing pet care involves balancing functionality with ease of use. The goal was to develop an innovative, engaging, and user-friendly app that simplifies pet health management without being overly complex. Through surveys and user interviews, we discovered that pet owners greatly benefit from a centralized platform for managing all aspects of their pet's care.

USER NEEDS

the user currently takes her pet to the vet only for injections but would like to go more regularly

having a platform with all pet care and medical information in one place

the cat doesn’t require additional services, as the owner can handle most care herself

an overview of nearby vet services with quick access is essential

track health metrics and receive notifications if something is wrong

digital storage of pet documents would be more convenient

the user would like the ability to donate to shelters through the platform

reminders for appointments, washing, deworming, and vaccinations

USER PERSONA

Ellie values a balanced lifestyle and enjoys spending time outside, often socializing with friends while walking her dog. She seeks efficiency in managing her life and uses tools to streamline her daily tasks. Ellie is passionate about her pet's well-being and wants to ensure a healthy lifestyle for her furry companion. She also looks for pet-friendly places and enjoys learning about pet education and training.

Goals: centralize pet information and receive timely reminders for appointments and vaccinations

Motivations: achieve a well-organized life and educate herself to provide the best care for her pet

Pain Points: forgetting appointments and regular care tasks, managing and storing lab results and prescriptions

The futuristic app project I worked on during my bootcamp was an exciting and challenging experience. The Pet Health App provided a solution for pet owners by offering a centralized platform to manage all their pet care needs and access educational resources to help them provide the best care for their pets.

Throughout this project, I gained valuable insights into the design process for creating a mobile app. One of the most significant learnings was that balancing a comprehensive set of features with a user-friendly design can be a difficult challenge.
